TYPES OF MASSAGE
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
Therapeutic massage is based on healing treatment. When muscles and tendons become damaged, impaired, knotted, tense or immobile, remedial massage provides an effective recovery to the damaged muscle/part of the body. This type of massage holistically treats the whole body and traces the discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms.
SOMATIC MASSAGE
A relaxation massage is exactly what the name implies: a massage strictly for the purposes of rest and relaxation. This massage technique is not designed for therapeutic effects or for dealing with chronic pain or discomfort. The massage consists of the therapist applying gentle to medium pressure of the hands to the body, gently manipulating the tissue to promote relaxation. It is not a deep tissue massage. It is not designed for working the deeper muscles of the body, but just a gentle kneading and rubbing of the outer layers of the body tissue. It will cover a wide range of areas on the body including the back, legs, arms and neck.
REFLEXO THERAPY
Reflexology is an ancient healing art based on the principles that there are reflexes in the hands and feet that correspond to every part, organ and gland in the body. A reflexology therapist will still apply acupressure and massage to the ears, hands and feet within these same zones. The client is said to benefit from improved circulation, detoxification, reduced tension and the body’s ability to heal itself.
LYMPH DRAINAGE
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmical massage treatment performed by a specially trained lymphatic massage therapist to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body. This helps to rapidly speed up the removal of wastes and toxins from a sluggish lymphatic system. Lymphatic massage can also aids in the prevention of swelling after injury or surgery. It is also thought to provide a major boost to your immune system.
ANTI-CELLULITE MASSAGE
Cellulite massage aims at remodeling the appearance of adipose tissue and removes cellulite. This type of massage occupies an important place among natural remedies against cellulite, being a method that has fast results especially in combination with a healthy and active lifestyle.
Anti-cellulite massage influences cellular metabolism and glandular system through accelerated calorie consumption and elimination of excess water retained in tissue to reduce weight. Also, cellulite massage results in an improvement in blood circulation, an activation of the venous system in order to remove metabolic residues accumulated at the cellular level faster, a local lymphatic drainage effect, thus improving the elasticity and tone of the skin.
CHAIR MASSAGE/ON-SITE MASSAGE
On-site massage is easy to deliver anywhere: workplace, home, party, conference. It has virtually no preparation time and little space is required making it simple and cost effective.
On-site chair massage can treat the areas that really do get tense; back, shoulders, neck, head, arms & hands.
This treatment can be applied using oil on the body in a private room or without oil over clothing at the desk. The treatment time can vary from 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes to suit the needs of the client.
The benefits of on-site massage for employers and employees: reduce the risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders and repetitive strain injury by relieving tension, increase the blood and lymphatic circulation which strengthens immunity to disease, revitalize the body, lower day to day stress and anxiety by boosting morale.
BAMBOO MASSAGE
This type of massage is practiced with body oil and bamboo sticks of different lengths and diameters. This method induces heating, soothing, action, and it is similar to volcanic rock therapy.
With bamboo sticks that have a hand extension function, the therapist can clutter the tissue more intense and can find muscle tension more easily, dissolving knots and trigger points. This procedure is used to stretch muscle tissue to the maximum, unlike other types of massage.
HOT STONE MASSAGE
Hot stone massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism.
The premise behind hot stone massage therapy is that the direct heat of the stones relaxes muscles, allowing the therapist access to their deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stone protocols with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience.
The hot stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation. The hot stones also decreases pain, muscle spasm and expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body.
CAPILLARY MASSAGE
The capillary massage is well-known for headache release and apart from that, it favors the tonic effect of the hair and contributes to the relaxation of the whole body. This type of massage stimulates the microcirculation, softens and stimulates the skin of the scalp, regenerates the re-growths, acts on the nervous system by oxygenating the vascular system, evacuates the stress and has a positive effect on hair. Capillary massage is practiced without oil and doesn’t require particular precaution since the patient is healthy.
FACIAL MASSAGE
A relaxing facial massage may be just what you need to reduce stress.
Facial massage decreases anxiety and can improve a negative mood. Gentle, routine facial massage can help to mobilize secretions, improve drainage, relieve congestion, stimulates the lymphatic vessels, facilitates toxin elimination and relax tight and drawn muscles, decreasing the lines formed by the tension buildup in the muscles. Massage with a hydrating body oil can also help minimize lines and dryness.
